The Universal QR Code Generator is a free, client-side web tool that allows users to generate QR codes for various purposes including but not limited to: contact cards (vCard), URLs, WiFi credentials, email addresses, SMS messages, phone numbers, plain text, calendar events, locations, payment links, social media profiles, and app download links.
3. "AS-IS" Disclaimer
This Service is provided "AS-IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of QR codes generated
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
4. User Responsibilities
By using this Service, you agree to:
- Verify all QR code content before distribution or use
- Test QR codes to ensure they work as intended
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not use the Service for illegal purposes including fraud, phishing, scams, harassment, or malicious activities

- Verify payment details before completing any financial transactions via generated payment QR codes
5. Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use this Service to:
- Generate QR codes for phishing, scams, fraud, or deceptive purposes
- Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Violate any person's privacy or data protection rights
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Harass, threaten, or harm others
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Bypass security measures or access controls
5A. Image Uploads & Intellectual Property Rights
If you upload images to be embedded in QR codes, all image processing happens entirely in your browser. We do not receive, store, view, or have access to any images you upload.
Your Responsibilities for Uploaded Images:
- You must own the image or have explicit permission to use it
- You must not upload copyrighted images without authorization
- You must not upload images depicting illegal content, minors in inappropriate contexts, or content that violates any law
- You must not upload images that violate privacy rights, publicity rights, or intellectual property rights of others
- You must not upload offensive, defamatory, obscene, or harassing imagery
- You are responsible for ensuring uploaded images comply with file size limits (max 5MB) and format requirements (PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG only)
You warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any images you upload, and you assume all liability for the content and distribution of QR codes containing such images.
Because all processing is client-side, we cannot monitor, review, or prevent inappropriate image uploads. You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and third-party rights.
6. Limitation of Liability
IMPORTANT LEGAL PROTECTION:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
- Errors, inaccuracies, or mistakes in generated QR codes
- Financial losses from payment-related QR codes
- Data loss or corruption
- Business interruption or lost profits
- Third-party actions based on QR codes you generate
- Compatibility issues with QR code scanners or devices
- Security breaches or unauthorized access resulting from QR code use
- Violations of third-party terms of service (PayPal, Venmo, social media platforms, etc.)
- Content of uploaded images or QR codes containing images
- Copyright, trademark, or intellectual property infringement from uploaded images
- Privacy or publicity rights violations from uploaded images
- Offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content in user-generated QR codes
YOUR USE OF THIS SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Service, its creators, sponsors (GAMA-1 Technologies and Gilead Systems), and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- QR codes you generate and distribute
- Images you upload and embed in QR codes, including any intellectual property infringement or rights violations
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
8. Payment Feature Disclaimer
The Service allows generation of QR codes for payment services (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle). We are NOT:
- A payment processor or financial institution
- Responsible for payment disputes, fraud, or chargebacks
- Affiliated with PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle
- Liable for incorrect payment details or amounts
You must verify all payment information before completing any transaction. All payment transactions are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective payment platforms.
9. Social Media & Third-Party Services
QR codes linking to social media profiles, app stores, or other third-party services are subject to those platforms' terms of service. You are responsible for:
- Complying with all platform terms of service
- Ensuring your landing pages meet platform requirements
- Maintaining appropriate licenses and permissions
10. Intellectual Property
This Service is licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the source code with attribution. Generated QR codes are yours to use as you see fit, but you remain responsible for their content and use.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service is hosted.
