Welcome to the Universal QR Code Generator. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices - or more accurately, our complete lack of data collection.
2. What We DO NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, track, or process:
- Personal Information: Names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, or any contact information
- QR Code Data: The content you enter into forms is never sent to any server
- Generated QR Codes: QR codes are created in your browser and never leave your device
- Uploaded Images: Images you upload for logos/branding are processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted to our servers
- Usage Data: We don't track how you use the tool, what QR types you generate, or how often you visit
- Analytics: No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no heatmaps, no session recordings
- Cookies: We do not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or any browser storage
- IP Addresses: We don't log or store your IP address
- Device Information: We don't collect browser type, operating system, screen resolution, etc.
- Location Data: Even when you create location-based QR codes, that data stays in your browser
- Payment Information: Payment QR codes are generated client-side; we never see your payment details
3. How the Service Works (Client-Side Only)
Technical Explanation:
- You visit our website (hosted on Netlify)
- Your browser downloads the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files
- You enter information into the form
- If you upload an image: The image file is read entirely in your browser using the FileReader API and converted to a data URL (base64). This happens locally on your device.
- JavaScript running entirely in your browser generates the QR code and overlays any uploaded image
- The QR code (with or without image) is displayed on your screen
- You download the QR code as a PNG file to your device
- Nothing is ever sent to any server. Period.
Image Upload Privacy:
When you upload an image to embed in a QR code, the image is processed using JavaScript's FileReader API, which reads the file directly from your device and converts it to a base64-encoded string stored temporarily in browser memory. This data is only used to overlay the image onto your QR code and is never transmitted to our servers, stored in cookies, or saved in any way. Once you close the browser tab or generate a new QR code, the image data is cleared from memory.
4. Third-Party Services
We use minimal third-party resources:
CDN for QR Code Library
We load the QRCode.js library from Cloudflare's CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com).
This is a standard, widely-used JavaScript library. When you load our page, your browser may request
this file from Cloudflare's servers. Cloudflare may log this request according to their privacy policy,
but we have no control over or access to any such logs.
CDN for Platform Logos (Social Media QR Codes)
When you select a platform logo for Social Media QR codes (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn),
your browser fetches the icon from Simple Icons CDN (cdn.simpleicons.org).
This request happens client-side in your browser. Simple Icons may log these requests according
to their privacy policy, but we have no control over or access to any such logs. The downloaded
icon is then embedded into your QR code entirely in your browser and we never see which platform you selected.
Netlify Hosting
Our website is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, access times) as part of their standard hosting service. We do not have access to these logs and do not use them. Refer to Netlify's Privacy Policy for details.
External Links (Payment Services, Social Media, App Stores)
When you scan QR codes linking to PayPal, Venmo, social media platforms, app stores, or other external services, those platforms have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.
5. No Cookies Policy
We do not use cookies, session storage, local storage, or any other browser-based data storage mechanisms. Your browser will not store any data from our service.
6. No Account or Registration
Our service does not require or offer user accounts, registration, login, or authentication. There is nothing to sign up for, which means there's no personal data to collect.
7. Children's Privacy
Since we collect no data whatsoever, our service is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
8. Data Security
The best data security is not collecting data in the first place. Since all QR code generation happens in your browser, your data never leaves your device. We cannot suffer a data breach because we don't have your data.
Important: Once you download a QR code, it's your responsibility to protect it. QR codes containing sensitive information (WiFi passwords, payment links, contact details) should be stored and shared securely.
9. Your Rights
Under privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. However, since we don't collect any data:
- Right to Access: There is no data to access
- Right to Deletion: There is no data to delete
- Right to Correction: There is no data to correct
- Right to Portability: There is no data to export
- Right to Opt-Out: There is nothing to opt out of
10. International Users
Our service is available worldwide. Since we don't collect data, there are no international data transfer concerns, GDPR compliance issues, or regional privacy law considerations.

If we ever change our privacy practices (which would only happen if we started collecting data, which we have no plans to do), we will update this Privacy Policy and change the "Last Updated" date. We are committed to remaining a zero-data-collection service.
